The SPiN Artist Residency at Pikes Ibiza has been formulated to encourage creative, experimental thinking and personal growth of emerging and established visual artists. It is a program of individual pursuit among a community of artistic peers. It is expected that artists will have the sufficient skills and experience to work independently in their studio area. Risk taking and mutual dialogue with other international artists is one of the objectives of the residency and for artists to engage in progressive ideas, without the pressures from normal daily life. Each resident at The SPiN Artist Residency at Pikes Ibiza is to use this gift of time and space to actively pursue artistic research through a rigorous studio practice.
Named as one of the ‘Top 100 Hotels in the world’ by Sunday Times Travel and winner of ‘Best Boutique Hotel’ by the prestigious White Ibiza Awards for three years running, Pikes is saturated in rustic charm and filled with personal touches.
Pikes is an iconic Ibizan institution, steeped in rock ‘n’ roll history and brimming with personality. The 25-room boutique haven in the San Antonio hills features bespoke rooms and suites set around the sprawling fairytale gardens and the famous aquamarine pool which was the location for Wham’s ‘Club Tropicana’ video.
The hotel was originally created in the late 1970’s by the legendary Tony Pike and for the last few decades, Pikes has been a playground for the music and cultural elite with regular guests including artists such as Grace Jones, Tony Curtis, Spandau Ballet, Bon Jovi, George Michael and Freddie Mercury.
Lovingly restored by the world-famous Ibiza Rocks brand in 2011 and adored by locals, Pikes is one of the few places that still represents the authentic, carefree, Balearic spirit of the island.
With a real fusion between the place, the people and the unmistakable feeling of just being there, the only danger of booking Pikes is that once you check in, you’ll never want to check out…
We hope you join us on the White Isle next Spring!
Thank you for your time
